hmm permit me to say this from the stand of a christian. XD
hopefully that's warning enough, and if you don't buy this kind of "stuff" then don't read further XP

i think at some point in our lives, we all feel lost, without a sense of purpose. and the thing is, that feeling is to be EXPECTED. we were born WITH a purpose, our lives are all guided and laid out before us, except lost in the flurry of our lives, and all the distractions we are faced with, we lose sight of that purpose.
and guess what? our main purpose is just to enjoy life, so that God, who created us, may look upon us with pleasure. except first you have to believe in God i guess.

and then you realise, that although that belief may not be able to change the things you have, it changes the way you view those things. you finally begin to appreciate that your life. seriously! i'm not joking T_T you find that God himself is THE best thing in the world.

i think knowing Him puts a rest to a lot of the uncertainty and hopelessness/exasperation one feels in life. because you're reassured that God is ALWAYS there. allow me to quote:

Psalm 34:18 "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Hebrews 13:5-6 "God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

Life is not a misery with God there. He'll lift you up and you'll feel cherished, significant, happy.

God never leaves you. He's the friend you can ALWAYS trust, ALWAYS rely on; someone who ALWAYS listens, who ALWAYS comforts.
believe in God, go to church, and there you will find the world where everyone appreciates you simply for the person you are, not what you do or what you are capable of or how much money you have.

Life IS futile on it's own. you're right, we don't know ourselves, our life, but God knows.
Trying to break free on your own would be an endless struggle, because the invisible walls that you think you have escaped from are still there, just in a different form - the materialism of society, the judgements ppl cast upon you, the prejudices, the scramble for one's own success such that other ppl are left behind...

I think if you come to know God, you'll fully rediscover the joy of just living life. hahah

and on the ending note, God is the person you can share your thoughts with, God is the person who meticulously created you to be the person you are, and who watches upon you lovingly, guiding you along your life, and if you were to trust anyone, you should trust God =]

allow me to share a testimony?

haha, all of you must know, i've moved around so much in my whole life...

seriously, i've never stayed in one place for more than 3 years. the limit to me staying in a school is 2 years, yup XD
went to 3 diff primary schools, 2 diff high schools, and now going to a 3rd new high school.

how do you think i feel? every single time i have to adjust, to fit into the new environment, attempt to create a place for myself where ppl all already know each other, where i am but the outsider who suddenly appears in their lives.

if i were but on my own, how LOST must i feel? it's like i don't belong anywhere, everyone knows everyone else, i'm just a stranger to them all. i don't deny that i've felt like this, a lot of times before. at least all of you have friends you've known for a long long time, whereas I have to deal with leaving all the friendships i've made every time I move.

but i'm not resentful. God always provides, and He has always given me new friends, while still allowing me to keep in touch with my old friends.
when i feel lost, i can just trust and rely on God, knowing that He has His plans, and even though i may not see them now, looking back i will be able to appreciate them.

one would think that with so much moving around, i wouldn't be able to form any close friendships. but hey, i'd like to think i have a lot of close friends, and not only that, i know ppl from all around the world! (not literally, but yeah XP)
and i've experienced a lot of different cultures, and all this has in turn moulded me to become a unique individual, the person i am =]

and just, i think i'm a rather positive person? XP hahaha and i think it's knowing God that has helped me have such a positive outlook on life, and it really is God who has saved me and carried me upon His shoulders when i was sad and depressed and without Him, i really really would be nothing. i'd just be an empty shell, lost and hopeless, feeling like i belonged nowhere. but with His grace, i've found a home everywhere i move to, and for that i'm endlessly grateful

and REALLY shall end this, by saying that i think the greatest blessing of my whole life, is that i was taken to church as a very young kid, so that i could get to know God =]
